ANGER MANAGEMENT (1ST GRADE)

I designed this group to address an increased number of outbursts from a 1st-grade class. Students were missing education opportunities and feeding off classmates' behaviors. In this group, we discussed self-control, self-awareness, and strategies to overcome anger.

SESSION 5: I KNOW HOW TO RESPOND

December 14, 2018

Students were given different possible scenarios that could cause anger. Group members then decided which options were the best way to respond (Throw something, scream, tell the teacher, hug yourself, count to tel, take a deep breath, or use a stress ball). Because this was the final session, students were given stress ball as a reminder of the group.
